When you face a drug-related criminal charge in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, quite a bit is at stake. Per the Cleveland County Adult Drug Court Program, you may, depending on if you meet eligibility terms, have the option of participating in adult drug court as opposed to serving time in jail or prison. Violent drug offenders are not eligible for participation in the program.
How adult drug court works
Cleveland County’s Adult Drug Court is a court-supervised program that seeks to help eliminate your substance dependency and otherwise help you regain control over your life. There are five specific phases in the program. These phases include Acute Stabilization, Clinical Stabilization, Pro-Social Habitation, Adaptive habitation and Continuing Care. Participation in the program is voluntary, and you have to agree to random home and vehicle searches as part of your program participation.
What happens when you complete drug court
If you complete and graduate from drug court, your doing so may result in your drug charge undergoing dismissal. You may also see other forms of relief after successfully completing the program depending on the terms outlined in your plea agreement. Your participation in drug court should also give you some of the tools and resources you may need to avoid returning to substance abuse in the future.
Successfully completing drug court involves avoiding substance abuse, attending all necessary meetings and appointments, and otherwise upholding program compliance requirements.
